About Us

The Creche History

The Cambridgeshire Canine Creche was launched in 2017 by Nikki Hopkin to give local dog owners a safe and fun place to bring their dogs while they're out of the house, or to get some exercise and socialise with other dogs.

The creche has grown in popularity beyond all expectation since it's launch and now looks after local dogs of all shapes and sizes 5 days per week.

We were delighted in 2018 to be awarded the Judges Award at the Fenland Business Awards as well as be given a 5 star rating on our daycare licence from the local authority.

New services are being added all the time.  In 2018 'The Academy' was introduced.  The Academy offers puppy training and socialisation and dog training via courses and one to one training.

The creche now also offers session hire of it's field for dog owner's use.

There are plans afoot for further expansion of the creche and the services it offers in the coming months so do keep checking back, or check out our Facebook page for more information.

Nikki and Pongo

Nikki Hopkin

I have always loved animals.  Even as a very young child I had a passion for anything with a tail..and even some creatures without!  Dogs have always been my first love though.

I grew up on a farm with Labradors and then terriers.  For as long as I could remember, I have wanted a Dalmatian and I have wanted to work with dogs!

At 18  I decided to buy my first Dalmatian called Pongo and in 2017 I opened the Cambridgeshire Canine Creche and haven't ever looked back.

Prior to opening the Creche I was working long hours and hated having my own furbabies left for such long periods of time during the day.  I had looked around the area but there wasn't anywhere that I felt happy sending my pups to and so the idea came about to launch the Creche.

Owning and running thiis business is incredibly hard work but so rewarding.  The love and affection I get from all the animals we care for is boundless.

I have always been fanatical about dogs.  I have been showing my dalmations for over 5 years with some very proud moments and successes along the way.  I am a qualified IMDT trainer with a level 3 qualification in dog training and behaviour as well as being fully trained in Canine first aid.  I also have level 3 qualifications in AnimaI care and management.  It was always the plan to get the creche established and then expand to offer dog training too.

Now we're able to offer training to dogs of all ages it's absolutely wonderful to see how the dogs come on as they go through their training.

We've got lots of plans in place for further expansion of the creche and the services we offer, it's a very exciting time and I can't wait to see it all take shape over the coming year!
